How Do I Cultivate A Vibrant Prayer Life?

We live in a generation where men do not pray. We talk about prayer, we read books about it, we desire to do it, but very few people are really investing their life and time into prayer.  For some of you listening to me you don't pray because you are professionals/aspiring professionals and you say, "I'm not called into the 5-Fold ministry, prayer is for Pastors and for zealous brothers have chosen to fail in other aspects of life" . We sometimes take people with vibrant prayer lives as sycophants and we despise them in our inward parts. It is precisely for this reason that prayer becomes the hallmark for true Christian maturity. Sometimes, you may find people who love to study the bible and listen to messages, but the ratio of people who have a consistent prayer regimen is typically lower. Let me explain why when you listen to messages, or study the word, there is often an immediately tangible addition, you come in contact with a new revelation and for man...

Is the Bible truly the word of God?

When I was younger I didn't really really take the bible to be true.... like true. It was more like I believed it because I was born into a Christian home. I was just going through the motions. Then in my 400 level in unilag, something happened to me. Hard to believe but true 100%. I was sleeping and one morning around 5:30am, I heard the words "...John 15:15". Immediately, I jumped up from my bed startled, I just knew that I heard the voice loud and clear and I was alone. I rushed to look for my bible to search what was written in John 15:15. Honestly, I almost cried, the words were so pertinent to my condition at the time. It was a difficult time in my life. It was then I realized that God knew the exact words in the bible because He inspired it. Friends the bible is real. I have had a similar experience several times after that. I just hear a specific scripture and when I check the bible it speaks exactly to my circumstance. Maybe God knew I was too intellectual (G...

What Does The Bible Mean By The World?

Broadly speaking, within scripture the word ‘world’ means two things: 1. The World refers to the physically observable universe and its inhabitants. Psalm 24:1 The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. We see here that God loves the world, it says for “God so loved the world…”, yet another passage 1John 2:15 says, love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. This suggests that there are differences in meaning. The world in scripture is also used to mean a complex system of ideologies predicated on the principle of good and evil. The first definition of the word ‘world’ above is simple to understand, but this second definition of the term ‘world’ is where we will focus on today because it is where the devil traps Christians and truncates our journey to becoming like Jesus in all things. It is this ‘world’ that God says in 1John 2:15 says, love not...

Why we give to much honour to Jesus. Is he God?

What is so special about him? some other prophet performed some miracles he performed too now Is Jesus God? Let me take you down the memory lane. The main reason God created us is for fellowship. Remember that the bible says he created us in HIS IMAGE. This is so that we (God and us) can communicate better. Do you know animals were not created in His image so they can not relate to God the way we would? Just as we have learned that sin causes separation. Adam and Eve's disobedience broke that relationship. God loves us but he doesn't not like sin. Between the fall of man and coming of Jesus, God tried to come up with plans on how to relate with us. He used the law- Like when you do this you get this. He used the prophets to communicate with people etc. In all, He still wanted the relationship.

Is God interested in the Songs/Movies I Listen to/Watch?

First off, let’s begin this discussion by explaining some terms. Interest:- the feeling of wanting to know or learn about something or someone Listen:- the act of giving one's attention to a sound. Sense Organ:- an organ of the body which responds to external stimuli by conveying impulses to the sensory nervous system. We were taught in school that these include the Eyes (for sight), Ears (for hearing), Nose (for smelling/perceiving), Tongue (for Tasting) and Skin (for touch/feelings). Tripartite: Man is made up of 3 parts – the Body, the Soul, and the Spirit. The Spirit is that element of God in us, the Body is the physical part of the human that can be seen and touched. And the Soul is the intermediary between the Body and the Spirit. In that, the Spirit transmits instructions to the Body through the Soul.  The Soul comprises – the Mind, Will and Emotions. We will focus this discussion on the Mind and the Will.  There are two levels of the mind namely; Conscious...

Is God Interested in My Relationships?

Image
It may sound trivial like how is it that “Big God”, creator of the universe, who holds the world in his hands just search me out of billions and be interested in my relationships? Well, we will find out tonight if he is interested in our lives that much. In Gen 2:18 – “And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.” God did not create humans to live in isolation. Man is by design a social being. If he had compassion towards Adam’s loneliness, I so much trust that he sees and understands ours. The Lord is compassionate towards singles and it shows as Adam started as one. In God’s dealing with Adam, we see that God knew that even though Adam had animals around him, Adam needed flesh and blood that was like him. God cares about us so much that he knows the number of hair strands on our heads and none falls off without his knowledge.
